Today it makes up an important trail of great cultural heritage known as Via De La Plata, the Silver Route. Discover the roads into the heart of Spain, full of historic cities, hospitable people and delicious cuisine.
Once a link between the Atlantic coast and the lands of southern Spain, for many centuries The Silver Route was a main communications route from North to South. Fascinating cities and palaces built by the Goths, the Romans and not least the Arabs are witnesses to the remarkable past of this primeval region of Spain.
Riding through this magnificent scenery, our route takes us via Ronda to Seville, the capital city of Andalusia. From here we explore the Extremadura region, one of the last miracles of nature in Europe. Besides the fantastic roads winding their way through this impressive and extremely varied landscape, we visit towns immeresed in history and experience amazing wildlife.
The tour offers complete motorcycling pleasure on small quiet roads through stunningly beautiful scenery. The roads throughout the entire route are asphalted. The comfort of a top noch 4* hotel (Paradores, Castles and Convents) awaits you after a day's riding.

Course of events
Day 1: Arrival in Málaga
Arrival at Málaga airport and transfer to the Hotel. Introductions over dinner with Spanish wine while giving us an opportunity to discuss our tour.
Day 2: Malaga – Zafra
On our first driving day we pass through wild mountainous scenery and the gorges of the Sierra Margarita and the natural wonder of El Torcal, famous for its unusual and unique limestone formations.
We continue following the road to Antequera, one of the most beautiful white villages in Andalusia and pass through Morón de la Frontera. Our route takes us through the Sierra Morena nature reserve. In this diverse mountainous and hilly landscape endless fascinating roads wind through oak forests and pastures, past millions of flowers and magical lakes. Long-sweeping bends and smooth asphalt makes our hearts beat just that little bit faster.
Day 3: Zafra – Sierra Morena – Trujillo
Today we reach Extremadura, a region of Spain where history was written. America‘s conquerors came from Extremadura. Hernán Cortez and Francisco Pizarro brought Inca and Maya gold back to their homeland Spain, thus financing the construction of splendid palaces and impressive churches.
Our tour leads us to a town steeped in history; Trujillo. Trujillo, the birthplace of the famous conqueror Pizarro, is mainly renowned for its beautiful main square, the medieval fort and city walls with seven gates.
Day 4: Trujillo – Cáceres - Plasencia
From Trujillo we go on the town of Cáceres. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and considered by many to be Spain‘s most beautiful city. Indeed, the flair of this city is unique as Cáceres offers an extremely well preserved old town with numerous palaces from the 14th century.
Cáceres is definitely a city we could spend more time in, however, there are still many more fascinating things waiting to be discovered on our tour such as the Parque Natural de Monfragüe.The Monfragüe reserve, protected since 1979, boasts the largest and most representative Mediterranean forests. Impressive breeding colonies of griffon vultures can be seen on the rocky cliffs while the park is also home to peregrine falcons, hawk-eagles and eagle owls.
Day 5: Plasencia - Guadalupe
From our hotel in Plasencia we ride towards the Sierra de Gredos. Here we will find beautiful small mountain roads with impressive views. Continuing our way down to Guadalupe we stop for a moment to visit some old Romans ruins.
In the evening we will spend the night in Guadalupe, which is particularly famous for its „Black Madonna“, the patron saint of all Spanish-speaking countries.
Day 6: Guadalupe – Cordoba
On our way to Córdoba we pass through an area of particularly stunning scenery and crystal-clear lakes. Each of these once man-made lakes captivates through its own unique character. Nevertheless, many magnificent stretches of road and the fascinating Andalusian city of Córdoba still await us. In the 11th century, Córdoba was one of the largest capital cities in Europe and today its cultural heritage epitomizes Andalusia.Córdoba boasts the world-famous Mezquita that originates from the 8th century and, covering an area of 23,000 square metres, it is the third largest mosque in the world.
Day 7: Cordoba – Malaga
We leave Córdoba and head in the direction of Granada, the home of the incomparable Alhambra, the only Moorish palace complex to be preserved in its entirety. We then cross the Sierra Nevada over a stunning mountain pass.
From here the endless winding roads and unique landscape of the Alpujarras await us. Away from the traffic with the Mediterranean Sea in sight we start our descent along the steep winding roads to our starting point of the tour.
Over a farewell dinner we look back at some of the fantastic impressions of the past week.
Day 8: Return journey
