Motorcycle Tour Morocco - The imperial cities
On this motorcycle tour in Morocco you travel to the imperial cities, ancient capitals, that have played a crucial role in Morocco´s history from the times of the indigenous Berbers, to the Arab invasion and European colonialism.
This journey traces ancient civilisations beginning in Malaga from where you reach Fez after a couple of days riding in the Rif mountains in the North of Morocco. As the intellectual and religious heart of the nation and a UNESCO world heritage site, Fez is filled with narrow streets, tiny squares and artisan workshops. From here you ride along the Middle Atlas to Marrakesh, famous for the old Medina, its main square the Djemmaa el-Fna, palaces, gardens and ancient steam baths.
You conquer the roads in the High Atlas, before you reach the the Atlantic Ocean, where the coastline takes you to Casablanca and further on to Rabat, once a thriving Roman port, now one of the most important cities in the country and its capital.
The tour offers complete motorcycling pleasure on panoramic mountain and coastal roads with stunningly beautiful scenery. The roads throughout the entire route are asphalted. Off-road detours are possible on request and according to riding ability. The comfort of a 4* to 5* hotel awaits you after our daily stages.
We have had a fantastic trip. The organization was very professional and the the tourguides were flexible and were able to adjust to individual wishes. The Group was very nice and it was a pleasure to meet them all.
An experience I don't want to miss. Now we are planning the next trip.
A huge thank-you to Johannes, Julio, Eva, Volker and Domi for an incredible experience. I took a big chance booking online with no real knowledge of Hispania Tours and travelling half way around the world. Their personal care and professionalism was really exceptional. My tour of Morocco far exceeded any expectations I had, from the incredible roads to the beautiful accommodations and top notch perfectly maintained bikes Johannes and his team provided the trip of a lifetime. If you’re even considering this trip don’t hesitate for a moment, I know I’ll be thinking about and remembering this experience for years to come.
Dear Johannes, and Hispania-Tours team. To discover your organization, to meet you all and have such a nice time together it was fantastic ! We will always remember this vacation with you in October 2014. Morocco was for us the best motorbike trip ever. We're very happy to know that are so many possibilities to ride with you in Europe as well.

Course of events
Day 1 : Arrival in Malaga
Arrival at Malaga airport and transfer to the Hotel. Introductions over dinner with Spanish wine, giving us the opportunity to discuss our tour.
Day 2 : Malaga - Tanger - Chefchauen
We start at the Costa del Sol along the mediterranean coastline towards Tarifa. The African continent can be reached from here without delay by crossing the straits of Gibraltar by ferry to Tanger.
Here in the north of Morocco green is still the dominant color as we take winding roads to pass fields and forests towards the Rif mountains. In the evening we reach Chefchaouen, “the blue pearl”, whose architecture is still reminiscent of the lovely villages of Andalusia.
Day 3 : Chefchauen - Fes
On our first entire day of driving on African ground, we enjoy the rolling hills of the Rif Mountains. The terrain is perfect for our motorcycles and offers a fantastic atmosphere in which we taste sheer driving pleasure at its best. Behind the Rif mountains we reach the vibrant city of Fes, the first of the imperial cities of Morocco that we visit. Also called the „Mecca of the West“ and the „Athens of Africa“, Fes has the worlds biggest medina, called Fas el Bali, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 4 : Fes - Atlas Mountains
Today we expect a long and very varied day with impressive scenery. We reach the high plains of central Morocco, where the vastness and beauty of this country emerges, while on the horizon the first foothills of the High Atlas appear. The track leads us westward and we reach our destination, an ancient village nested in the heart of the Middle Atlas where we will spend the night.
Day 5 : Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
The area we cross today is rich in cultural and architectural heritage: Zaouias, Kasbahs, fortified villages and well known for its souks, the weekly markets. By sunset we arrive in „Morocco‘s biggest oasis“ called Marrakech. Known as the „Pearl of the South“ or “The Red City” many consider Marrakech to be Morocco‘s most beautiful city due to its distinct oriental flair.
Day 6 : Marrakech
Rest day in Marrakech, the second of the imperial cities of Morocco that we visit.
Day 7 : Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat
We leave Marrakech and take the road towards Casablanca at the beginning of todays route. The morning ride provides us with a worthy environment for motorcycling with its long straight sections full of sheer riding pleasure under Palm Tree alleys.
Seafood and beautiful tracks make our day in the afternoon as we reach the coastline at Casablanca from where we ride towards Rabat, Morocco´s capital and the third imperial city that we visit on this tour.
Day 8 : Rabat - Malaga
We take an early picture at the Hassan Tower, Rabat´s iconic landmark, before we leave the city and ride briskly to cross the north western part of Morocco and head directly for the border. From here we cross the straits of Gibraltar to Algeciras and our Morocco adventure comes gradually to an end as we arrive at our starting point in Malaga.
Day 9: Return journey
